Overview
MegaETH is an Ethereum Layer-2 built by MegaLabs that brands itself "the first real-time blockchain": 10ms mini-blocks today, targeting 100,000+ TPS with sub-millisecond latency at full capacity. It uses a modified OP Stack with a single active sequencer, EigenDA for data availability, and node specialization (sequencer, replicas, provers). Public mainnet launched February 9, 2026.

Risks
- MEGA is down ~58% from its public sale price; TVL fell ~91% from its May 2026 peak — momentum has reversed hard.
- Sequencer centralization: L2BEAT rates MegaETH below Stage 0; a 6-of-10 multisig can upgrade contracts.
- Kumbaya DEX fee controversy (50% fee retention revelations) damaged trust in ecosystem governance.
- 53% of supply earmarked for future distributions is a persistent overhang on price.
Ozero's take
analysisMegaETH is a cautionary tale about buying the hype cycle: the tech thesis (real-time blocks) is genuinely interesting, but the token is down badly and TVL evaporated once incentives thinned. I would not farm this hoping for a Flux windfall — the 53% future supply is as much a risk as an opportunity. Watch whether real apps (games, payments) actually ship; that is the only thing that changes the story, and it has not happened yet.
